today was six-k's first run on the gulf. 6ab3an as expected i arrived there 20 minutes late, so i wasnt surprised that i didnt see anyone i knew there. anyways i thought to myself am here so i might as well have a quick jog. so i go at it starting from hard rock till i got to the scientific center. now i have been goint to the gym about everyday and believe me jogging outside in this beautiful weather is a much needed change of scenery, much better then staring at the small screen on the treadmil.

anyway, i got to the end when i saw 2 guys runing and wearing 2 cool 6-k t-shirts. after that we joined the rest of the group, some jogged, others ran, while most (including me) walked the rest of the way.

i have to admit this turned out to be better then i expected, i saw some old friends and met new interesting guys n girls. this is really a cool way to exercise and do something different for a change, i dont know when the next run is but i will keep u guys updated if anyone is interested, take care u guys :)

this is from the founder of the club:
The 6K Club is an idea i've had for a long time. After my stuggle with weight my entire life, i've done something about and keep doing something about it everyday. Loosing weight is difficult but maintaining is even more difficult. I wanted a place where people can meet, network, talk, and run. I ran 3 miles a day and i lost 140 pounds, running was my best friend. If i can do it so can you. Who should join?Everyone, literally. People on a diet, people planning to go on a diet, people who are just into running, people who like talking long walks and sweating a little, people who are young, old, men & women, local and foregin. This is a place where no one is skinny, no one is fat, no one is cute and no one is ugly, we are just getting together to have a good time and sweat a little while were doing it. :D Hope to see you here soon.

the first run is on Saturday, January 20th, 2006. Time 4:00 pm sharp. Where? Parking just after you pass hard rock on the right. I'm sure you won't miss us.

this is a cool way to excersise and meet people have have fun and all. if u need some more info on this contact jasem on the6kclub@hotmail.com

now if your thinking 6 kilometers is too much, well i agree with you, for starters it is a lot, i mean i could only do 4 in almost 40 minutes, anyways this is why this club is a good idea, it should give some sort of motivation to reach that level of fitness.

anyways i hope to see you all there this week or in the coming weeks

take care :)

saddam, dead bloggers and me

I remember shortly after the liberation of Kuwait in '91 I started to fantasize, or rather imagine what, when and how Saddam will meet his end. I imagined him captured and dragged back to the streets of Kuwait where he would be bludgeoned to death. I imagined how happy I would feel, how happy the rest of the country would feel about his death. I imagined us celebrating on the streets with flags and chants of free Kuwait and all. But with time I stopped thinking about it, and eventually stopped caring. When it finally happened, I felt sorry for that old broken man standing there alone. Watching the execution gave me no satisfaction, no peace of mind at all. I really did feel sorry for him.

Anyways, enough about that, I wanna talk about dead bloggers. Don’t worry no one passed away or anything, what I mean is the bloggers that have left this world, the so called blogosphere. There are some blogs out there that we feel a certain kind of connection with. We find ourselves going back to that blog everyday or every other day (depending on ur addictiveness rating). These bloggers and their blogs become a small part of our daily routine. So it's kinda sad when one of those bloggers stops posting or otherwise simply disappears. Anyways, I thought it would be nice for us to remember those who one way or the other inspired us or touched us in a way. As for me, I would like to mention McArabian's blog, http://mcarabian.blogspot.com/. This is the first blog I have ever read, this is the blog that inspired me to create a blog of my own one year ago. Its been a while since she last posted and I don’t know if many of the new bloggers know her, if u don’t go check out her blog its very interesting.

Last but not least, me. it’s time now for me to make a few new years resolutions that I know I wont be able to keep but who cares right? Here goes:
1) not to think too much
2) get in shape
3) get a great job
4) have my first vacation in 3 and a half years
5) invent something
6) get famous
7) hate getting famous
8) lose the rest of my hair
9) Climb to the top of the rock while showing off my ass to everyone in maki(done that;p)
10) Finish a book, any book
Ekhh, well that’s it for now, let me know what u think ok?
